Okay guys, Greg picked up this neat chicken waterer /feeder at a garage sale awhile back, thinking I'd love it for my garden. And I do. I love old things, and I love metal things. I'm just not sure what to do with this particular thing.

no ideas but I encouraged him to buy it Jan
Make it into a winter birdfeeder? Otherwise I can't think of anything other than to let it sit in the garden. Maybe in the spring cover the sides with chiken wire and plant sone clematis or columbine or vinca vine in it and it would soon be covered with some colorful flowers and vines.
I have two of them and had thought to plant tomatoes in them but I didn't this year. Then you could water them from the bottom.. Other than that, I have no idea... I brought mine from the farm with me. They are definitely for feeding grain to chickens... and I don't think they would be good for bird feeders unless you had it under a roof... the snow would get into the lip where the birdseed would be then on a warm day would melt and then freeze up...
