It just seemed wrong somehow...

I haven't posted in 11 days? Hmmm. Time sure is flying. But that's not what seemed wrong.

It is currently 86 degrees outside, but feels like 93. There is something wrong with that, especially since I must go outside in a little while to mow, but that's not what I meant, either.

On Monday we began a "quick" little makeover on the kitchen. Nothing much, just new countertops - now don't get excited, they're just formica, but they are beeee-u-teee-ful - a new sink, faucet, and range hood were all in the plans. Greg, being the handy-dandy diy-er he is (and I am ever so thankful he is!), got a good start that day, and I thought things might just move along swimmingly.

And they mostly have, but they are TAKING FOREVER. I told Greg last night that when we decide on a project, we need to set our timetable, then double it. :o) He's doing an excellent job, and I'm giving him all the credit for this makeover, because all I've done so far is help lift and carry out counters and paint. He's doing the hard stuff - outside where it is not cool and comfy. And he's doing a GREAT JOB. I'm just getting impatient. This is my second day with no kitchen sink. At all. Just a hole - well, not even a hole, because there is no counter. Just cabinets with no top.

So, I just washed two days' worth of dishes in the bathtub. That is what just seemed wrong.

I washed dishes in the bathroom.

Now I used my big Tupperware fix 'n mix bowls for dishpans, so everything was really fine and clean and now the dishes are dried and put away, but I hope I get my kitchen sink back SOON.

Now I must suck it up and go mow. Sometimes I expect HELL to call and want it's HEAT back. And my honey must really love me since he's been outside in it for two days and hasn't yelled at me once. :o)

I better get out there. And mow. Ugh.

Edited at 6:05 p.m. - I went outside to the hot heat.
I helped Greg carry in the counter with the sink.
I went back outside.
I threw away somebody's dead branch that's been in our yard for over a week and doesn't belong to us.
I mowed the backyard.
I tried to help Greg scrape the laminate off the one countertop we can't replace, but have to just re-cover.
I got yelled at. (I knew it would happen eventually.)
Now I am inside, and that is where I shall stay.

Edited again at 7:33 p.m. - I have a sink. It's installed in the counter and the counter is screwed into the cabinets.
It is not connected to any plumbing. Yet.
Tomorrow.
I'll have running water tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, water will flow.
Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya, tomorrow. You're only a day away...

Sorry - I've been up since 3:45 a.m. and haven't had a nap. :o)
